How to Use Iron On Reflective Vinyl Roll?
When you first have a look at the reflective heat transfer HTV film rolls, it’s a touch like holographic vinyl on the glowing side, but after you pull the carrier sheet backward, it loses its holographic look. The adhesive side may be a darker frosted gray; this is often the side where you’ll be able to cut the look.
In most cases, reflective heat transfer vinyl is virtually a clone of most heat transfer vinyl.
Mirror Design and Cutting
First, open the planning within the cutter software. I’m using my beloved Silhouette Cameo 3 and Silhouette Studio software.
Once you open the planning, scale it to the required size, and so mirror the look. you may mirror the planning because you’ll be putting on the rear of the warmth transfer vinyl and can flip it back the opposite way after you apply it to the shirt.
Next, adjust your cut settings and send it to your machine to be cut. For this reflective heat transfer vinyl, use settings for blade depth 2, speed 7, and force 5 and that they work o.k.. (Cutting parameters are for reference only, we propose you test them yourself)
Weed and Apply The Reflective Heat Transfer Vinyl
Once the planning is cut, use a weed hook to get rid of excess vinyl around the design. Next, iron your shirt to get rid of wrinkles and warm it up. Then, place the look on the front of the shirt. Cover it with multi-purpose paper, cotton fabric, or parchment paper. Set the iron to the cotton setting and apply heat and lightweight pressure for about 15-20 seconds to confirm coverage of the complete design. Finally, cool the carrier sheet for some seconds before removing it.
That’s it! Your new reflective design is all done and prepared for wearing and shining.
Reflective Heat Transfer Film Transfer Process
1. Make high-resolution images;
2. According to the picture size produced by dot gravure electric engraving;
3. Intaglio is installed on the printing machine and printed on the PET polyester film, which is printed into a hot transfer film, and can print thousands of meters of the finished product in one hour;
4. The heat transfer printing film is installed on the hot transfer printing press for printing. The operation is simple and the pattern is formed at one time without the need for color.
A heat transfer printing machine can print more than ten thousand products a day, 8 hours a day.
- 1- Work on a flat surface where uniform heat and pressure can be applied. Avoid applying film over seams and stitches.
- 2- Remove adhesive sideline (if that product has one), exposing the dry adhesive. Do not remove the reflective side liner.
- 3- Place Reflective HTV Vinyl – Transfer Film on the substrate with the adhesive side down and apply heat and pressure as described in the table below. Place a non-stick slip sheet between the platen and laminating surface to prevent any excess adhesive transfer contamination.
- 4- Allow the application to cool to room temperature before removing the liner covering the reflective side (if that product has one).
Place application on a flat surface and remove the liner by lifting one corner and pulling (about 45o angle) in a continuous, smooth manner.
